NDP Leader used to be a Separatist

I kind of wish people focused on what political leaders believe in today - not what they used to believe in - or claimed to believe in for their own selfish professional reasons. What they believe in today.

Frankly, I would daresay that there are exactly ZERO political leaders who didn't at least sympathize privately with the views of their greatest opponents.

Now, I understand that there is a difference - but still - is there anyone who doesn't honestly believe that the person in question is in some way unable to do their job?
