Crazy NDP

Ok- so, NDP will support the government, giving Layton the cover he needs to...recover. It is about pensions and heating oil and whatever other irrelevant nugget they can find. Ironically, a cut in the taxes to heating oil (for seniors) would also be a boon to the Oil and Gas sector- but what do I know.

Furious, Tom Mulcair will leave the party, and cross the floor to join the party he wanted to join in 2008 but wouldn't because he hated S Dion. He was, after all, a right wing liberal under the Charest government.

The deal will vacate the riding of Outremont for him, forcing Cauchon to find another riding to win - which he can easily do. This will save Mr. Mulcair from an almost certain trouncing in the next election.

Alternatively, Mulcair will grin and bear it, knowing that Layton will resign halfway through May - and give the PM an extra six months of government. His increased stature after the end of the prolonged leadership battle will make him more...electable to the people of Outremont.

Either way, I think my spot on team 2012 - where I have been for a long time - is safer than it was last week. There is still no guarantee that logic and reason will carry the day.
